Call to Worship Romans 6:3-5
3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.

Baptism questions by the pool side
I will ask Nathan to come to step forward and ask:
Nathan have accepted Jesus as both Lord and Saviour. That is, have you turned to Jesus for forgiveness for all your failures to love God and love your fellowman as you should?
And have you Nathan committed your life to obey Jesus’ teachings through the indwelling strength of the Holy Spirit, that is to love God and your fellowman with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Do you now wish to be baptised in obedience to Jesus’ teachings and by doing so declare to all creation that you are God’s child now and through all eternity?
Having accepted your freely given profession of faith and in obedience to Jesus’ teachings I invite you to be baptised.

“On the profession of your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and in obedience to His command, I now baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

The person having been baptised will exit the baptismal pool. Paul will give Nathan their robe and towel and pray for him.

Communion
We are about to share the Lord’s Supper. This simple meal reminds us of the night Jesus ate with His disciples before He was betrayed and went to the cross. We do this because Jesus told us to remember Him in this way whenever we gather.
This meal is for those who love the Lord and want to love Him more. You don’t have to be perfect – just come with a thankful heart.
As you take the bread, remember Jesus gave His body for you on the cross because He loves you. Find strength and hope in that love.
As you take the cup, remember His blood was poured out to bring forgiveness and a new covenant – a grace-filled relationship with God, based on faith and inner transformation, not rituals. Through Him we have direct access to God and the promise of eternal life.
Before you come forward, take a moment to thank God for all Jesus has done for you.
When you’re ready, please come, take the bread and wine from Steve and Hazel return to your seat, giving thanks to God for Jesus and His love for you.
