Welcome
What praise is
Psalm 100:1–5
“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.” – Marguerite
Reflection thought
Praise is joyful recognition of who God is — an act of worship that springs from gratitude and love. It reminds us that God’s goodness is not dependent on our mood or situation, but is constant and true through every season of life. When we lift our voices in praise, we are not simply singing songs — we are proclaiming that the Lord is worthy of our joy, our trust, and our hearts. Praise re-centres us on God’s character, opening our spirits to His presence and renewing our sense of awe at His enduring love and faithfulness.

Praise declares God’s greatness
Psalm 145:1–7
“I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendour of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
They tell of the power of your awesome works—
and I will proclaim your great deeds.
They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.” – Gwen
Reflection thought
Through praise, we proclaim God’s mighty acts and declare His unchanging character to the world. When we recount His deeds, we remind both ourselves and others that the Lord is powerful, merciful, and just. Praise lifts our focus from what we cannot control to the One who holds all things together. In declaring God’s greatness, we also strengthen our faith — for each word of praise is a testimony that God has been faithful before, and He will be faithful again. Praise becomes a witness to others and a reminder to our own hearts that our God is beyond compare.

Praise in every circumstance
Habakkuk 3:17–19
“Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights” – Sharon
Reflection thought
True praise continues even in hardship — it’s an act of trust that lifts our hearts above our circumstances. When life feels uncertain or painful, praise becomes an anchor for the soul. It is a declaration that our confidence is not rooted in what we see, but in who God is. In those moments when we choose to praise through tears or disappointment, we discover something powerful: praise changes the atmosphere of our hearts. It brings light into dark places, peace into worry, and hope into despair. It reminds us that the God who walked with Habakkuk through the valley walks with us too — and He is still worthy of all our praise.
Hymn Blessed Be Your Name
We praise because God reigns
Revelation 5:11–13
“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honour and glory and praise!”
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honour and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”’ – Johnathan
Reflection Thought
We praise because God is worthy — our praise joins the eternal song of heaven declaring the victory of the Lamb. Every time we worship, we echo the sound of heaven itself, where angels and saints forever proclaim Christ’s triumph. Praise reminds us that our story is part of something far greater — the story of God’s redeeming love that spans eternity. When we lift our voices together, we join the chorus of creation, affirming that Jesus reigns and His kingdom will have no end. In that truth, our praise finds its ultimate purpose and joy.
