SUMMARY:Bible Study\, “Faith Under Fire: How Christians Should Respond to Threats”
DESCRIPTION:We will meeting at the church for this mornings Bible study. \nBible Study 12th June 2025\,  “Faith Under Fire: How Christians Should Respond to Threats” \nObjective: \nTo help believers respond biblically and faithfully to the many threats they face—whether physical\, societal\, emotional\, or spiritual—by standing firm in God’s truth and presence. \nOpening question: \n“What kinds of threats or pressures are Christians facing today? How do these affect your faith or sense of peace?” \n\nGod is our refuge\n\n Psalm 46:1–3\, 10–11 “God is our refuge and strength\, a very present help in trouble.” \n Ask: \n\nWhat does it mean to take refuge in God?\nHow does stillness express trust?\n\n Teaching point: \nGod doesn’t remove all trouble\, but He remains present in it. His power gives us peace. \n  \n\n Fear God\, not man\n\n Matthew 10:28–31“Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul…” \n Ask: \n\nHow does fearing God change how we see threats?\nWhat helps you keep your eyes on eternal things?\n\n Teaching point: \nTrue courage flows from knowing God is greater than anything the world can do to us. \n  \n\n Spirit-empowered courage\n\n 2 Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us a spirit of fear…” \n Ask: \n\nWhat would it look like to respond to fear with power\, love\, and a sound mind?\nWhich of those three do you need most right now?\n\n Teaching point: \nGod equips us to respond to pressure with boldness\, compassion\, and wisdom. \n  \n4. Stand firm in the armour of God \n Ephesians 6:10–18 “Put on the full armour of God\, so that you can take your stand…” \n Ask: \n\nWhich piece of the armour feels most important to you today—and why?\nHow can you put on the full armour in your daily life?\n\n Teaching point: \nGod has already given us everything we need for spiritual resistance. Stand firm. \n  \n\n Boldness over retreat\n\n Acts 4:29–31 “Enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.” \n Ask: \n\nWhen threatened\, do you pray for escape—or for boldness?\nHow can we be bold without being unkind or careless?\n\n Teaching point: \nInstead of shrinking back\, the early church asked for courage. We’re called to do the same. \n  \nRecap & practical steps \n  What we learned today: \n\nGod is our constant refuge – Stay rooted in His presence (Psalm 46).\nFear rightly – Honour God more than human threats (Matthew 10).\nYou are empowered – God’s Spirit gives power\, love\, and clear thinking (2 Timothy 1:7).\nArm yourself – Live daily in spiritual readiness (Ephesians 6).\nPray for boldness – Like the early church\, ask God for courage (Acts 4:29).\n\n  \nPractical steps for this week: \nDaily Refuge: Start each morning with a prayer acknowledging God as your refuge and strength. \nReframe Fear: When afraid\, ask: “Am I fearing man more than God right now?” Pray for realignment. \nMemorise Truth: Commit 2 Timothy 1:7 to memory as your anti-fear verse. \nArm Up Daily: Before leaving the house or beginning your work\, pray through the armour of God (Eph. 6:10–18). \nCourage in Action: Share one encouraging word\, Scripture\, or act of love this week in a situation where you feel pressure or risk. \nClosing Prayer: \n“Father\, when the world shakes and threats arise\, help us stand firm in faith. Make us strong in Your Spirit\, sure in Your Word\, and steady in Your love. Clothe us in Your armour and use us as light in dark places. In Jesus’ name\, Amen.”
