DESCRIPTION:We are continuing our Advent journey as we look at Zechariah’s great song of praise. \nLuke 1: 67 – 79  \nHis father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied: \n“Praise be to the Lord\, the God of Israel\, \nbecause he has come to his people and redeemed them. \nHe has raised up a horn of salvation for us \nin the house of his servant David \n(as he said through his holy prophets of long ago)\, \nsalvation from our enemies \nand from the hand of all who hate us— \nto show mercy to our ancestors \nand to remember his holy covenant\, \nthe oath he swore to our father Abraham: \nto rescue us from the hand of our enemies\, \nand to enable us to serve him without fear \nin holiness and righteousness before him all our days. \nAnd you\, my child\, will be called a prophet of the Most High; \nfor you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him\, \nto give his people the knowledge of salvation \nthrough the forgiveness of their sins\, \nbecause of the tender mercy of our God\, \nby which the rising sun will come to us from heaven \nto shine on those living in darkness \nand in the shadow of death\, \nto guide our feet into the path of peace.”
